I’m Ricardo Andrés, YA sci-fi author! I wrote my debut novel when I was 13, and spent my entire childhood creating characters who lived in the distant cosmos. Besides authoring, I love playing my electric guitar or programming video
games. I hope to blend my passion of creative writing with video game development and tell compelling stories.
Before turning one, I was diagnosed with Severe Hemophilia Type A. Living with a traumatic bleeding disorder was hard enough—until I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 8. Juggling these frustrating health conditions
was something I quickly adapted to—until it became my new normal. I quickly found solace in drawing characters, writing stories, and developing video games. I thrive whenever I can immerse myself in a creative project—and leave the
pressures of my life.
When I turned 18, I started working for a coding school in Rocklin, California, called Hackingtons. At Hackingtons, I was a Lead Instructor, where I would guide and support students between the ages of 8-15. I loved my job, especially
when I got to meet such enthusiastic and talented kids who really enjoy programming amazing projects. A few of my students read my debut novel, Luminary: Quantum Rising, and loved it. Now, I live in Dublin, Ireland, where I am studying
computer science at University College Dublin (UCD).
